Health Campus welcomes two new residents

InSilicoTrials and Delta Healthcare open first office in Limburg

Italian biotech company InSilicoTrials and Belgian-Dutch Delta Healthcare Consulting will soon set up operations in Limburg. POM Limburg is bringing two new residents to the Health Campus in Diepenbeek. The arrival of the two players means another strengthening of the ecosystem.

Italy's InSilicoTrials provides a cloud platform to pharma companies, generating simulations when developing new drugs. InSilicoTrials currently employs about 20 people and has offices in Italy, the Netherlands and the United States. With its fourth branch on the Health Campus - employing five people - InSilicoTrials mainly aims to establish new collaborations with companies. Belgian-Dutch Delta Healthcare Consulting - which has some 13 employees - currently operates from Willebroek, but will move five people to the Health Campus. Delta supports clinical studies for the pharmaceutical industry and hospitals. The latter can hire a study coordinator from them. Furthermore, Delta is market leader in Belgium and the Netherlands in home visits for clinical studies.

Age
InSilicoTrials is currently working with biomedical company Rejuvenate Biomed, which is developing drugs to delay the onset of ageing symptoms. Rejuvenate will use InSilicoTrials' cloud platform to run a number of simulations. It is collaborations like this that convinced the new residents to settle in Limburg. CEO Luca Emili: "We chose the Health Campus to make new connections and innovate the healthcare of the future with a wide range of stakeholders. The campus' focus on new technological developments and digital solutions provides an ideal testing ground for our software platform." Delta Healthcare CEO Geert Briers is also pleased: "We explicitly chose the Health Campus for our second location, because of its ambitious plans and the many opportunities for collaboration."

Growing ecosystem
The arrival of the two residents gives a boost to the growing Health Campus ecosystem. Commissioner for Economy and chairman of POM Limburg Tom Vandeput: "The counter stands at seven new players who confirmed their arrival on campus, and InSilicoTrials is the third international one. Those companies don't decide their locations lightly. The innovative environment we create, and the strong ecosystem around healthcare that we are building on the Health Campus play a crucial role in our persuasiveness. With their services, InSilicoTrials and Delta are once again a great addition to our ecosystem."

BioVille
In the short term, InSilicoTrials and Delta Healthcare will move into health incubator BioVille. This year, that incubator will expand by 2,000 m2.
