Pharma global player Amador Bioscience lands in Limburg

Amador Bioscience, a US global player in clinical trials, will establish itself on European soil for the first time. POM Limburg is bringing the pharma company to the new Health Campus in Diepenbeek. In time, Amador will offer 120 masters in life sciences recruit.

Commissioner for economics and POM chairman Tom Vandeput: "With Amador's arrival, we are putting Limburg on the map as a hub of innovation in healthcare. The tone for the new Health Campus has already been set."

US-based research company Amador Bioscience is world-renowned in clinical pharmacology, more specifically in its digital arm. Specifically, the company creates digital simulations of drug trials using artificial intelligence and statistical data. In this discipline, Amador ranks among the top three worldwide. After expanding its branch in China, the pharma player had been looking to establish a foothold in Europe for some time.

CEO Bing Wang: "With Amador Bioscience, we are already currently active in China and the United States, Europe is the next important market for us. The province of Limburg not only has a strategically strong location, but also has a strong academic reputation and vast know-how in life science and high-tech industries. In turn, we believe that with our 20 years of experience in the sector, we can boost the development of the pharmaceutical industry in Limburg and the rest of Europe."

120 masters
A crucial factor in the negotiations was the presence of a knowledge institution. After all, one of the biggest challenges for the company is the search for talent. In order to triple its workforce in four years, Amador is eventually looking for some 120 masters in biostatistics or biomedical sciences. The proximity of UHasselt is therefore an asset for recruiting this scientific talent.

Lighthouse
Pending the construction of the new Health Campus, the company will occupy offices at Corda Campus from early December.

After research centre Anima Research Centre, Amador is the second major campus resident.

Limburg must therefore build world fame in the sector, and the arrival of a world player like Amador fits perfectly into this picture."
