Clinitude expands into Limburg

POM Limburg brings pharma player to Health Campus

International pharma player Clinitude is expanding its European arm to Limburg. POM Limburg is bringing the company to the future Health Campus in Diepenbeek. Still this year, Clinitude will recruit 35 additional highly skilled profiles. Some of these the company is recruiting in Limburg.

Leuven-based CRO - Clinical Research Organisation - Clinitude conducts clinical studies for pharmaceutical companies, specialising in vaccine and radioactive product research, among others. Besides its headquarters in Leuven, the company has branches in Singapore, the Philippines and the United States. It currently employs about 50 people.

Chairman Tom Vandeput: "After Amador Bioscience and Anima Research Center, POM Limburg's Welcome Management team is bringing another promising pharmaceutical player to Limburg. This makes the Health Campus increasingly attractive, also internationally. Our ambition is to become a world player in healthcare, and we are clearly on the right track."

Highly educated profiles
Clinitude wants to double its turnover this year, and is still looking for 35 highly skilled profiles to do so. Some of these the company wants to recruit in Limburg.

CEO Sabrina Wijnen: "By choosing Limburg for our further expansion, we are returning to our roots. In Limburg, there are many professionals who are active in our sector, but mostly commute to Brussels or Antwerp. By coming to Limburg, we hope to attract some of these profiles. Since I believe enormously in an ecosystem, it is only logical that Clinitude wants to diversify with us in the Belgian Limburg 'clinical research' landscape."

At the source
The proximity of UHasselt is an additional asset for growing pharma companies. It allows them to recruit talent at the source.

Piet Stinissen, dean of Medicine and Life Sciences at UHasselt: "We are delighted with the arrival of Clinitude at the Health Campus. The company strengthens our regional healthcare ecosystem and offers great prospects for our graduate students in healthcare and biomedical fields, among others. Clinitude's presence will also create additional opportunities for the clinical scientific research we are developing with our Limburg partner hospitals."

Magnetic effect
The announced arrival of pharmaceutical consultant Amador Bioscience in Limburg plays a vital role in attracting new companies. Amador is among the top three in clinical trials worldwide.

Tom Vandeput: "A company like Amador has a magnetic effect on other big players, who want to collaborate with them. That is also what we have in mind for the Health Campus: the development of a strong ecosystem around healthcare in Limburg, with space for education, research and companies."

In anticipation of the new building complex on the Health Campus, Clinitude will temporarily occupy offices on Corda Campus. The first building of the new campus will open its doors in 2023.
