Limburg delegation makes new contacts for Health Campus in Singapore
Healthcare innovation and data-driven prevention central to international exchange
SINGAPORE - From 7 to 11 September, a Limburg delegation of companies, hospitals ZOL and Jessa, and UHasselt will travel to Singapore. The mission will establish new contacts for Health Campus Limburg DC and strengthen cooperation between healthcare, science and entrepreneurship.
In Singapore, the delegation will meet hospitals, research centres, innovation hubs and government agencies. Visits show how technology and data are innovating healthcare, with a strong focus on prevention and precision medicine. Singapore inspires with its national data platforms and the HealthHub app. That approach dovetails with initiatives underway in Limburg, such as innovative projects on data-driven prevention and international collaborations.
"The challenges in healthcare are the same everywhere: affordability, accessibility and quality. Singapore shows how collaboration and digitalisation can address those challenges. In Limburg, too, we are building that future with Health Campus Limburg DC. By exchanging knowledge, we strengthen our hospitals, researchers and companies," said Tom Vandeput, deputy for Economy and chairman of POM Limburg.
Building a healthy future with data
A focal point during the mission is the use of health data for prevention. Singapore is known for its policies around healthy lifestyles and preventive medicine. Dialogue with Singaporean partners offers opportunities to develop new applications and markets together.
Economic opportunities for Limburg
Besides knowledge exchange, the mission also focuses on economic growth. International cooperation opens doors for Limburg companies and research institutions active in healthtech, biotech and digital healthcare solutions. "With Health Campus Limburg DC, we profile ourselves internationally as an innovative health region. This international positioning is crucial to attract investment, stimulate entrepreneurship and at the same time build a healthier future for all Limburgers," concludes Vandeput.
The mission is supported locally by Flanders Investment & Trade and Enterprise Singapore.
